Specs at a Glance

The 2026 Lexus RX is an appealing midsize luxury SUV with many salient features. The RX has a striking, polished exterior and a state-of-the-art cabin. With the RX, you will also have several mechanical configuration options. Each trim offers something different, which means you’ll want to consider your priorities when deciding which one to get. If cost is a consideration, the nicely appointed Base trim is a good option, while the Premium offers some additional upgrades while keeping affordability in mind.

Performance

Both the base and Premium trim levels of the RX are available with a traditional or a hybrid mechanical configuration. The conventional mechanical system features a turbo 2.4L engine that delivers 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard with this powertrain on both the base and Premium trims, and you can choose between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. If you prefer the RX with a hybrid powertrain, you can get either trim with a hybrid system that combines a 2.5L four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a total of 246 horsepower and 233 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is standard.

Appearance

Regardless of the mechanical system you choose, the base and Premium trims have the same appearance and components.

The base RX features a sculpted, sporty exterior design, a power liftgate, and 19-inch wheels. The Premium adds standard roof rails, a power sunroof, and a de-icer system for the windshield wipers.

Features

Inside, the base RX has comfortable synthetic leather seats, tri-zone climate control, heated and power-adjustable front seats, a sound system with 12 speakers, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with smartphone integration, a wireless phone charger, and a 12.3-inch digital display for the driver.

The Premium adds a few refinements, including a heated leather steering wheel with wood trim accents, ventilated front seats, and a driver’s seat with memory settings.

Either trim can be upgraded with premium LED headlights, a hands-free power liftgate, a digital key, a premium Mark Levinson sound system, automated parking, and a surround-view camera. An Appearance package is available for either trim, featuring black 21-inch wheels, black exterior trim details, puddle lights, illuminated door sill trim, and gray interior accents.

The Lexus Safety System 3.0, standard on both trims, includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane centering, blind-spot warning, and parking sensors.
