HOW IS LEXUS INNOVATING WITH THE 2019 LEXUS ES?

July 2nd, 2018 by

The 2019 Lexus ES has been redesigned to help it appeal to a broader range of consumers. Both the exterior and interior of the seventh generation 2019 Lexus ES were redesigned. The luxury Lexus sedan is available in an ES 350 trim, the 300h hybrid and the ES 350 F Sport trim.

REDESIGNING A LEXUS CLASSIC

The safer, quieter, more spacious design for the new Lexus ES is intended to appeal to the traditional buyers. The daring redesign leans towards proactive elegance, attempting to challenge traditional buyers expectations. The new generation of buyers is being targeted with exceptional craftsmanship, class-leading active safety technology and sharper performance.

WHAT ARE NEW EXTERIOR INNOVATIONS FOR THE LEXUS ES?

The new ES F Sport and more dynamic exterior design are attributed to Lexus using a new chassis for this model. The 2019 Lexus ES is 2.6 inches longer, 1.8 inches wider and 0.2 inches lower to the ground. With wider tracks in the front and rear and a 2-inch increase to the wheelbase, the wheels are pushed closer to the corners than previous generations.

The new proportions and stance draw the eye and reflect its improved performance capabilities. The new ES model also includes a newly designed Caroline focusing on emphasizing better aerodynamics and a lower stance. The rear LED tail lamps on the 2019 ES wrap around the quarter-panels and the F Sport models come equipped with a spoiler as well.

New and innovative colors choices offered for the exterior include Sunlit Green, Moonbeam Beige Metallic, and Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 for the F Sport.

INTERIOR UPGRADES FOR THE 2019 LEXUS ES

The new design here is based on the Lexus future Interior concept, blending a driver-centric and a comfortable, spacious area for front-seat passengers. The instrument panel, heads up display and center display screen are clustered tightly, comfortably within the driver’s field of view. For the rear passengers, Lexus provides a lower highpoint and headliner configured to provide more headroom. In addition, the longer wheelbase provides passengers with more legroom as well.

INNOVATING ON PERFORMANCE MECHANICS

Engineers focused on making class-leading handling and power the new hallmarks for the ES traditionally known for its quietness and comfort. According to their lead engineer, the 2019 Lexus was designed to deliver a level of performance fundamentally higher than anything reached with previous generations. The new GA-K chassis was chosen as a solid foundation to help the 2019 Lexus ES feel easy to drive and more responsive.

The exceptionally rigid front-wheel drive chassis provides more torsional stiffness than the rear-wheel drive chassis used in the LC and LS models. Including a V-brace mounting behind the rear, rack-mounted electrical power steering and a new multitude-link rear suspension design allow more flexibility and precision when tuning the ES. The upgraded chassis is designed to help the driver feel a senses of complete control and responsiveness beyond enjoying a smooth ride.
