After receiving several big updates last model year, the IS carries over for 2027 with minimal changes.
Lexus offers this compact luxury sport sedan in two main trim levels: F Sport Design and F Sport.
The well-equipped IS F Sport Design brings a lot to the table. Striking exterior treatments, such as exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels and signature LED headlights, help give it a commanding road presence. Some of the standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a 10-speaker premium audio system, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation.
If you prefer more aggressive handling, step up to the racier IS F Sport. An F Sport-tuned suspension enables you to experience greater control when cornering. On the inside, you’ll find heated and ventilated F Sport seats along with aluminum sport pedals. Unique 19-inch alloy wheels with staggered summer tires further set the F Sport trim apart.
Under the hood rests a responsive 3.5-liter, naturally aspirated V6 engine rated at 311 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. While rear-wheel drive models use an eight-speed Sport Direct-Shift automatic transmission, all-wheel drive variants feature a six-speed automatic transmission.
Available on the F Sport trim is an exciting F Sport Handling Package. It further enhances the sedan’s handling capabilities by adding an Adaptive Variable Suspension and a Torsen limited-slip rear differential. This package also unlocks additional driving modes.
Every new IS benefits from the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, a comprehensive suite of advanced safety features. While the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection can automatically brake for unexpected obstacles in the road ahead of you, Proactive Driving Assist provides subtle steering assistance when needed. Automatic High Beams, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, and Road Sign Assist are also included. An available Technology Package brings additional confidence-boosting technologies like Traffic Jam Assist.
