Specs at a Glance

Owning a luxury Lexus SUV like the 2025 NX is the American dream for some people. Riding around in something this opulent isn’t for those who prize practically only, although the Lexus NX is known for its clever convenience features as well. The 250 and 350 trim levels are at the top of the lineup and often the first two trims that people investigate. Here’s how those two trim levels stack up against one another.

Performance

There are glaring performance differences in the NX 250/250AWD trim and the NX 350 AWD trim. The first is that the 350 gets standard all-wheel drive. The 250 has a base variant available without all-wheel drive. Horsepower is very different on both models as well. The NX 250 comes with a 2.5L engine rated at 203 horsepower, while the NX 350 AWD comes with a 275-horsepower 2.4L engine. Both trims come with paddle shifters.

Appearance

Lexus never shortchanges anyone, even on their base models. The NX 250 is nicer than the majority of luxury SUVs out there and is jaw-droppingly handsome for a base model. It comes with Bi-LED headlamps, roof rails, rain-sensing wipers, and elegant 18-inch 15-spoke alloy wheels with a Dark Gray Metallic and machined finish. It offers a package that upgrades Bi-LED headlamps to premium triple-beam LED headlamps. You can also opt for 20-inch, 20-spoke alloy wheels with a silver finish. Overall, the 350 AWD offers more upscale options that aren’t included in the 250’s standard design.

Features

The NX 250 and 250 AWD come with NuLuxe interior trim, dual-zone automatic climate control, and 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seating. What the 350 does is give people room to customize. For example, you can upgrade NuLuxe seating to perforated leather-trimmed seats with Chevron seat quilting, pick up black open-pore wood trim, and add door courtesy lamps. Where both trims align beautifully is on their driver-assist features. You’ll get standard lane tracing assist, intelligent high beams, and rear-cross traffic alerts on both models. It’s nice to see that both models also get intuitive parking assist with automatic braking, something that so many mainstream SUVs leave out or charge extra for. You’ll be hard-pressed to find more safety features on another SUV in this class and at this price point. With features like this, the 250 and 350 are both excellent choices for customers, but those who want more add-ons will find the 350 more welcoming.
