Lexus Celebrates 25 Years of Its Iconic December to Remember Campaign

In 1999, Lexus started its “December to Remember” campaign. Not only did the first campaign usher in the brand’s signature marketing strategy for the season, but it also celebrated the holidays with Lexus owners. While the campaign is always going to be about sales, that doesn’t mean Lexus doesn’t love the holidays, just like the rest of the world.

New “December to Remember” Campaign

It has been 25 years since Lexus first debuted its December to Remember campaign. On this very special anniversary, Lexus plans to debut two new commercials that celebrate the season: “Letter” and “Forecast.” Both of these emphasize how Lexus’s performance and technology make great Christmas memories possible.

Letter

The Lexus GX and NX make a special appearance in this spot. They’re both used to helping a little girl get her letter to Santa out on time. The Lexus NX’s Intelligent Assistant lends its services to calling “Uncle Bryan” and eventually reaching Grandpa, too (waiting in a parked Lexus GX). And while the letter does end up flying into the air and never reaching its destination, Santa still gets the girl’s piano for her by the next morning.

Forecast

Lexus’s second “December to Remember” spot is called Forecast. A local forecaster is stuck at work delivering the weather to his listeners. With white snow pouring down all around, his family is determined to get to him. With the help of the Lexus TX, GX, and LX, they arrived to spend time with him. “December to Remember” commercials have always been about how families use their Lexus vehicles to make Christmas a happier time for all. A big part of the holidays is spending time with families, and with reliable Lexus models who are hard at work, it’s possible to get more out of the holidays and every other season.

It’s not just about the commercials, though. “December to Remember” is also a Lexus sales event. While not every single model will be on sale, a good number of select models will have special offers to help customers save money around the holidays. December is a great time to buy a Lexus vehicle.
