Lexus NX Service Intervals

NX Intervals

What is the Lexus NX Crossover Maintenance Schedule?

Although the Lexus NX is a reliable crossover vehicle, you can’t simply drive it home and hope it lasts for years. You’ll have to do your part to ensure the Lexus stays in peak condition, which means periodically taking the NX in for service. Lexus recommends a specific Lexus NX maintenance schedule to keep your car healthy based on the model’s unique build and mechanical composition. Aside from the oil change, Lexus NX service intervals begin at about 15,000 miles and occur until the car hits 90,000 miles. We reccomend following your Lexus manufacturer’s schedule in your driver’s manual.

15,000-Mile Service

The first service interval for your Lexus begins at 15,000 miles. When your Lexus vehicle reaches this point, a mechanic will take it for a road test to ensure it drives and performs as intended. The Lexus will have its tires rotated at this point. The fluid levels are also checked and modified as necessary by flushing the fluids or adding enough to top off fluid levels. Fluids checked at this point include brake, antifreeze, and windshield washer fluid. The cabin air filter will be changed at 15,000 miles on your Lexus. The car will have the oil changed to ensure the engine remains lubricated and performs as designed.

30,000-Mile Service

At 30,000 miles, a mechanic will schedule your Lexus for more service. This time, the NX will have more items on its service list. An oil change is repeated at this time, and you may get a new cabin filter if the vents are not circulating fresh air. The engine may get a new filter for cleanliness as well. The engine coolant fluid is checked and will be replaced as necessary. The ball joints and protective covers are also inspected. A mechanic will look at the car’s brake lines and hoses. The body’s exterior is also examined for signs of rust or other problems.

60,000-Mile Service

The spark plugs are evaluated at 60,000 miles. They may need replacement depending on their condition, although some spark plugs can last until 90,000 miles or more. The spark plugs help ensure optimal engine performance. A certified Lexus technician will give the car a clean engine fuel filter as needed for improved engine performance and reliability. The tires are rotated, and an overall exterior safety check is performed a second time.

90,000-Mile Service

When your NX hits 90,000 miles, it will have the engine, transmission, and brake fluids replaced. The battery is evaluated, along with the hoses and cables in the mechanical system. The Lexus NX vehicle will have new tires and a spark plug change if required.
